Eastvale– The State recently issued a limited Stay at Home Order for Counties in the Purple Tier, which includes Riverside County and the City of Eastvale.

According to a statement issued by Erica S. Pan, Acting State Public Health Officer, the order is requiring that “all gatherings with members of other households and all activities conducted outside the residence, lodging, or temporary accommodation with members of other households cease between 10:00pm PST and 5:00am PST, except for those activities associated with the operation, maintenance, or usage of critical infrastructure[1] or required by law.” Pan stated that this order does not apply to those that are homeless. “Nothing in this order prevents any number of persons from the same household from leaving their residence, lodging, or temporary accommodation, as long as they do not engage in any interaction with (or otherwise gather with) any number of persons from any other household, except as specifically permitted herein,” stated Pan. The order began November 21 and will remain in effect until 5 a.m., December 21.

Many had various opinions about the recent order and how it would affect the city. However, on November 19, Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco issued the following statement in response to the Stay at Home Order: “The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is aware of the new Limited Stay at Home Order issued by the Governor set to go into effect on Saturday at 10:00pm.
It is very important that all of us do everything we can to protect ourselves from contracting or spreading this virus. The only way to ensure you do not contract the virus is to stay at home and avoid contact with others. For those going out into public, it is very important to protect yourself from contracting and/or spreading the virus by wearing a mask and social distancing.
It has been the policy of the Sheriff’s Department to encourage responsible behavior and compliance with the Governor’s orders. To ensure constitutional rights are not violated and to limit potential negative interactions and exposure to our deputies, we will not be responding to calls for service based solely on non-compliance with the new order or social distancing and mask guidelines.
