Five Arrested in Grand Terrace Homicide

Grand Terrace – On Thurs., Jan. 1, at just before 2 a.m., Grand Terrace/Central Station Deputies responded to a call of shots fired.  They were dispatched to Cal Skate, located at 22080 Commerce Way in Grand Terrace.

Upon arrival, Deputies located three male victims outside the location suffering from gunshot wounds.  The victims and approximately 400 people were attending an all-night New Year’s Eve party at Cal Skate.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department (SBSD), two of the victims were security guards at the event.  One victim was treated at the scene, and two were transported to a local hospital for treatment.  At approximately 3:10 a.m. on Jan. 1, one of the victims – Security Guard, Richard Williamson, 48, of Riverside, was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

SBSD Homicide Detectives immediately launched an investigation in pursuit of the suspect(s).  On Mon., Jan. 5, five suspects were identified and arrested in the shooting incident:  Ezekiel Isaiah George, 18, of Perris; Topaz Prince Crummie, 20, of San Jacinto; Adrian Gentry, 17, of Adelanto; Laquan Trice, 15, of Perris; and Maurice Lamont Martin, Jr., 17, of Perris.  The San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office has charged all five suspects each with one count of Murder; two counts of Attempted Murder; and one count of Shooting at an Inhabited Dwelling – with Gang Enhancements filed on each count.  Gentry, Trice and Martin are all being charged as adults.  All five were arraigned on Jan. 6.

Murder At Motel 6 Pomona

Pomona – On Sat., Nov. 29 at approximately 8:40 p.m., Pomona Police Officers responded to a disturbance at the Motel 6 on the 2400 block of South Garey Avenue. At the scene they discovered an adult female, deceased in one of the rooms.            According to the Pomona Police Department, Yvette Silva was found to be stabbed to death. The motive for the murder is still unknown at this time. Silva was the mother of a 12-year old son.Pomona Homicide Detectives have investigated every lead in an attempt to find the suspect in this murder, and they have identified Alex Clever, 26, from Pomona. Clever – an acquaintance of Silva – was recently released from prison and was currently on Post Release Community Supervision. The San Gabriel Valley East AB-109 Task Force arrested Clever as he rode a bicycle away from his parents’ home in the Phillips Ranch community in Pomona. He was taken to the Pomona City Jail and booked for murder.

The San Gabriel Valley East AB109 Task Force is a multi-agency team comprised of officers from nine agencies and includes representatives from the LA County Probation Department and the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office. Their primary responsibility is to conduct compliance checks on those individuals who have been released from prison under AB109 to ensure that they are in compliance with their terms of release. The Task Force is responsible for enforcement in the cities of Azusa, Baldwin Park, Claremont, Covina, Glendora, Irwindale, Pomona, La Verne, West Covina and Whittier.

City of Industry: Brutal Arson Death Investigation

City of Industry – Somewhere there are answers to the questions surrounding the heartbreaking events that led to a man, naked, reportedly beaten, bound and set on fire; a man who had the fortitude to somehow crawl up an embankment trail to the 605 freeway.

In a news release issued by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau and Arson Explosive Detail, an adult male was found on the northbound 605 Freeway, just north of the 60 Freeway at about 1:49 p.m. on Tues, April 15. Multiple motorists called in the incident.

Reports say that detectives believe the victim appears to have come from the wash area below the freeway. His arms and legs were partially bound, and he had severe burns to his face and body. Detectives are looking for evidence of a fire in the vicinity.

The man, who was reportedly in his 30s, has not yet been identified. He succumbed to his injuries on Wed., April 16 at USC Medical Center. No arrests have been made.
