Man arrest for assault with a deadly weapon and criminal threats by CHPD

INCIDENT: Assault With A Deadly Weapon / Criminal Threats

LOCATION: 5200 block of Mission Boulevard, Unincorporated Montclair

SUSPECT(S): Ivan Perez, 30 years old, of Rancho Cucamonga

VICTIM(S): 30 year old male resident of Ontario

SUMMARY:

On Sunday, October 28, 2018, at about 9:11 pm, deputies from the Chino Hills Police Department responded to a disturbance in the parking lot of a local business. Upon arrival, deputies observed Ivan Perez standing in the roadway. Deputies learned Perez went to the business to confront another person. An employee of the business approached Perez who responded by drawing two large knives from his waistband. The employee victim fled and Perez chased him into the roadway. The victim was not injured.

Perez was detained by deputies and during a subsequent search, deputies found Perez in possession of several other knives. Deputies learned Perez previously threatened the employees and told them he would “shoot up” the business. Perez was arrested and transported to West Valley Detention Center where he was booked for assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threats, and carrying concealed dirk or dagger. Perez remains in custody and is being held on $50,000.00 bail.
