Carbon Canyon Road Roadway Safety Operation

LOCATION: Carbon Canyon Road, between Chino Hills Parkway and Oakway Lane 

SUMMARY: 
The Chino Hills Police Department’s Traffic Division, along with the California Highway Patrol conducted a roadway safety patrol operation on Carbon Canyon Road (State Route 142) between the intersections with Chino Hills Parkway and Oakway Lane. The purpose of the operation was to enhance roadway safety through education and enforcement action for violations of the California Vehicle Code, and to prevent traffic collisions. 

During the operation, traffic citations were issued for 61 vehicle code violations including distracted driving, vehicle equipment violations, school bus stop signs violations, speeding, unsafe lane changes, unlicensed motorcycle operator and registration violations. The California Highway Patrol’s Commercial Vehicle Unit conducted 18 commercial vehicle inspections. Unsafe commercial vehicles were placed out of service and identified mechanical violations were documented as a result of the inspections.
