Chino Hills man arrested for possession of Molotov cocktails and being under the influence of a controlled substance

INCIDENT: Suspect arrested for possession of Molotov cocktails and being under the influence of a controlled substance

LOCATION: Parking lot of the Chino Hills Sheriff’s Station – 14077 Peyton Drive, City of Chino Hills

SUSPECT: Gary Cooper, 36-years-old, resident of Chino Hills

SUMMARY: 
On Sunday, December 23, 2018 at approximately 12:06 p.m., Gary Cooper called Sheriff’s dispatch requesting deputy contact for a theft report. Deputies contacted Gary Cooper in the Chino Hills Sheriff’s Station parking lot and determined he was under the influence of a controlled substance and was arrested.

During the investigation, Cooper was found to be in possession of several Molotov cocktails, a pellet handgun that had been modified to resemble a firearm, drug paraphernalia and burglary tools. Sheriff’s Arson/Bomb Detail responded and took possession o f the Molotov cocktails. Cooper was arrested and booked at West Valley Detention Center for possession of a destructive/explosive device, being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of an imitation firearm, drug paraphernalia and burglary tools.
