Chino – A bicyclist died after colliding with a vehicle last saturday evening in Chino, police said.
The 37-year-old man, who lives in pomona, was riding his bike along Philadelphia Street near Bridger Avenue when a vehicle struck the man, said Chino police Lt. Nick Marotta. It happened in the 5100 block of Philadelphia.
A witness had phoned police about the crash about 7:24 p.m., Marotta said. Officers arrived to find the 37-year-old lying on the pavement, unresponsive.
Paramedics transported him to Chino Valley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with police.
Traffic investigators have yet to determine the cause of the crash. It was not clear whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the incident.
