Eastvale/Jurupa Valley – In the last month, there were several incidents in the city of Eastvale and Jurupa Valley. The information below is courtesy of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Incident: Fatal Traffic Collision

Date: October 11, 2024

Location: Jurupa Valley

Details: On Friday, October 11, 2024, at 10:26 p.m., deputies responded to Van Buren Boulevard south of Jurupa Road, Jurupa Valley, regarding a report of a two-vehicle, major-injury traffic collision. Deputies arrived and located the driver and sole occupant of one of the involved vehicles deceased. The driver and passenger of the other involved vehicle were transported to an area hospital in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station Traffic Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. The cause of the collision is still under investigation, and it appears that alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the collision. The identity of the driver will not be released at this time, pending notification to the next of kin.

The collision investigation required the temporary closure of Van Buren Boulevard between Jurupa Road and 56th Street to process the scene and collect evidence.

Incident: Homicide Investigation

Date: October 10, 2024

Location: Jurupa Valley

Update:

On Thursday, October 10, 2024, the Riverside Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit had responded to the 6300 block of Baldwin Avenue. The Central Homicide Unit assumed the investigation after determining the incident was a murder. The victim has been identified as Joshua David Clark, a 46-year-old transient from the city of Jurupa Valley.

This investigation is continuing and anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact Investigator D. Brown with the Central Homicide Unit at (951) 955-1777 or Investigator J. Cervantes with the Jurupa Valley Station at (951) 955-2600.

Original Details:

On Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 6:27 a.m., deputies from the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the 6300 block of Baldwin Avenue after receiving a report of an assault with a deadly weapon. Deputies arrived in the area and located a male adult on the ground suffering from significant injuries. Medical first responders arrived and treated the victim; however, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The Riverside Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin. As of now, no arrests have been made and this investigation is ongoing with further follow-up is being conducted. No additional details are available for release at this time.

Incident: Fatal Traffic Collision

Date: October 2, 2024

Location: Eastvale

Details: On Wednesday, October 2, 2024, about 7:00 p.m., deputies assigned to the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the area of Limonite Avenue and Harrison Avenue, Eastvale, regarding a major-injury traffic collision involving two vehicles. When deputies arrived, they located the passenger of one of the vehicles with significant injuries. Deputies rendered medical aid to the passenger until paramedics arrived. The passenger ultimately succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

The Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team responded and assumed the investigation. The cause of the collision is still under investigation, and it appears that alcohol and/or drugs were not a factor in the collision. The identity of the passenger will not be released at this time, pending next of kin notification.

The collision investigation required the temporary closure of Limonite Avenue between Sumner Avenue and Cedar Creek Road, along with Harrison Avenue between Golden Bit and Great falls, to process the scene and collect evidence.

Incident: Fatal Traffic Collision

Date: September 29, 2024

Location: Jurupa Valley

Details: On Sunday, September 29, 2024, at 7:16 p.m., deputies assigned to the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the area of Limonite Avenue and Peralta Place, Jurupa Valley, regarding a major-injury traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a vehicle. When deputies arrived on scene, they located the motorcycle rider lying in the center island between the eastbound and westbound lanes with significant injuries. Deputies rendered medical aid to the motorcycle rider until paramedics arrived. The motorcycle rider succumbed to the injuries sustained during the collision at the scene.

The Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. The cause of the collision is still under investigation and it appears alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the collision. The identity of the motorcycle rider will not be released at this time, pending notification to the next of kin.

The collision investigation required the temporary closure of Limonite Avenue, between Peralta Place and Ave Juan Bautista in order to process the scene and collect evidence.
