Eastvale – In the last month, there were several incidents that took place in the City of Eastvale and City of Norco. The incidents are listed below, courtesy of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision

INCIDENT DATE: September 20, 2021

WHERE: Goodman Way and Cantu-Galleano Ranch Road, Eastvale

DETAILS: On Monday, September 20, 2021, about 6:31 P.M., deputies responded to the report of a major injury traffic collision near the intersection of Goodman Way and Cantu-Galleano Ranch Road. When Cal Fire personnel arrived on scene, they located a Hispanic male adult who had been struck by a vehicle. The subject was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver and passenger were transported to a local hospital and treated for their injuries. The Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team responded to the location and assumed the investigation.

Preliminary investigation indicated the driver was traveling through the parking lot and suffered a medical emergency. The driver lost control of the vehicle, collided with a metal gate and struck the decedent who was walking through the parking lot. At this time, it remains unknown if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the collision. The identity of the decedent is pending identification from the Coroner’s Bureau. Amazon parking lot was closed for the duration of the investigation.

INCIDENT: Shooting

INCIDENT DATE: September 10, 2021

WHERE: 5400 block of W. Homecoming Cir., Eastvale

DETAILS: On September 10, 2021, at 10:05 pm, Eastvale deputies were conducting a battery investigation near the 5400 block of W. Homecoming Cir., in the city of Eastvale, when an adult male contacted the deputy and advised he had been shot. The deputy requested assistance and rendered medical aid to the victim until relieved by Cal Fire personnel. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Jurupa Valley station detectives responded to the location and assumed the investigation.

At this time, the suspect(s) in this incident have not been contacted; however, the investigation is on-going. Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact Investigator Ko at (951) 955-2600.

INCIDENT: Hit and Run Collision

INCIDENT DATE: September 3, 2021

WHERE: Schleisman Rd and Sumner Ave, City of Eastvale

DETAILS: On September 3, 2021, around 3:38 PM, deputies assigned to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Jurupa Valley Station, responded to a Hit and Run collision at Schleisman Road and Sumner Avenue, in the City of Eastvale. Deputies arrived within minutes and located a 16-year-old victim who had been hit by a vehicle. Preliminary investigation indicates as the victim entered the crosswalk the suspect vehicle began to make a right turn, resulting in the vehicle colliding with the victim.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating the suspect responsible for the hit-and-run that left the juvenile with minor injuries. The vehicle was described as a light colored 4-door sports utility vehicle, driven by a white adult male, with gray hair. The vehicle fled the area traveling southbound on Sumner from Schleisman.

INCIDENT: Negligent Discharge of a Firearm

INCIDENT DATE: September 2, 2021

WHERE: 14000 Block of Fabiola Lane, Eastvale

DETAILS: On September 2, 2021, at 3:15 am, Jurupa Valley Sheriff station Deputies responded to a reported family disturbance near the 14000 block of Fabiola Lane, in the city of Eastvale. While en route to the residence, deputies learned that the suspect fired a firearm within an occupied dwelling. Upon the deputies arrival, the shooting suspect remained inside the residence and refused to exit. 

Jurupa Valley station investigators and members of the Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) responded to the location and were able to take suspect Jessica Palma into custody without incident. Suspect Jessica Palma will be booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center for negligent discharge of a firearm. No one was injured during this incident. INCIDENT: Driving Under The Influence (DUI) Checkpoint

INCIDENT DATE: August 27, 2021

WHERE: Undisclosed location within the city of Norco

DETAILS: City of Norco, Calif.-The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department – Norco Station conducted a Driving Under the Influence (DUI) / Driver’s License checkpoint on Friday, August 27, 2021. The checkpoint was in the 1700 block of Hamner Avenue between the hours of 8:00 P.M. and 2:00 A.M. The checkpoint yielded the following:

  • 663 vehicles screened
  • 5 drivers arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol
  • 20 citations issued for unlicensed drivers
  • 1 citation issued for a suspended license
